Anass Zaroury has been selected for Morocco’s World Cup squad, ahead of the tournament's start on Sunday.
The call-up will be the 22 year old's first cap, having represented Belgium, from U17 level up to U21.
Eligible to represent Morocco, Zaroury has settled into life as a Claret quickly since signing from Charleroi in August this year.
He has scored six goals in the last nine games and made two assists, contributing heavily to the Clarets top of the table position heading into the World Cup break.
On the announcement, Zaroury said: "I'm so excited to have been called up to the Morocco squad. Going to a World Cup is something that every player dreams of, it's such a special moment for me.
"Thank you to everybody that's helped me get here."
Set to join his international teammates this week, Morocco, who are in Group F of the tournament, are set to play their first group game against Croatia on Wednesday 23rd November (10am).
The African nation will then face Zaroury's side at youth level, Belgium, on Sunday 27th November (1pm), before Canada on Thursday 1st December (3pm).
