Burnley Women travel to Stoke City on Sunday with the aim of recording a fourth straight victory in all competitions at the start of the 2024/25 season.
The Clarets have started the new season in fine form, scoring 19 goals and conceding just once in their three outings to date.
Their latest match was against AFC Fylde in the FA Women’s National League Cup on Wednesday night and Rebecca Sawiuk’s side ran out 7-0 winners.
A Laura Elford hat-trick was complimented by goals from Aimee Kelly, Bella Reidford, Charley Docherty and Rhema Lord-Mears on a productive night in Nelson.
Burnley’s last league outing saw them brush aside Stourbridge and the Clarets are on the road again this weekend.
Stoke City are the opponents and have started their campaign reasonably well too, winning one of their two league games and progressing to the League Cup competition with a 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
That Wolves victory was their latest outing earlier this week, and a familiar face in former Claret Millie Ravening found the back of the net twice.
Ravening isn’t the only former Claret in their ranks, so Sunday’s game should be an interesting test for both sides.
The Potters' Clayton Wood Training Ground (ST4 6NL) is the venue and fans are welcome to attend, with tickets available to purchase on the day at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions and children.
It is important to note that Stoke are accepting cash only.
If you can’t make it in person, there will be a livestream of the match on the official Burnley Football Club YouTube channel and Clarets+.
