Adobe Women’s FA Cup fever is looming large ahead of this weekend, with an East Lancashire derby against Blackburn Rovers on the agenda.
Kick-off is 2pm at Nelson FC’s Daisy Arena on Sunday, with supporters welcome to get behind the team in person.
Lou Roberts’ side have made a fantastic start to the season, winning nine and drawing the other two of their 11 matches in all competitions.
Their latest outing was against an in-form West Bromwich Albion side on Wednesday night, and the Clarets returned to Lancashire with all three league points thanks to Millie Ravening’s penalty.
The result saw them leapfrog Wolverhampton Wanderers to the top of the league table, although the Midlanders have played a game less.
Sunday’s match is a first round FA Cup tie and Roberts and co will be keen to build on last season’s run that saw them reach the third round, before losing out to Nottingham Forest in extra time.

Blackburn Rovers compete in the fourth tier of the women’s pyramid and have found life at that level tough going.
After six matches they are yet to earn a league point, but Rovers have enjoyed some success in the FA Cup.
They beat Stocksbridge Park Steels 11-2 in the third qualifying round to get to this stage, with Ashley Tiripke and Lucy Allman both scoring hat-tricks.
Aisha Nsangou netted a brace that day, with further strikes coming from Clara Butler, Ella Whittaker, and Ellie Rice.
Burnley will be buoyed by the fact that they put 13 goals past their James Mallett’s side in the FA Women’s National League Cup last month.
Charlie Chadwick scored a perfect hat-trick on a memorable afternoon all round, with Aimee Kelly and Danielle Maxwell netting doubles.
