Men's and women's players recognised with awards at BFCitC Charity Dinner

At Sunday evening's Burnley FC in the Community Charity Dinner, the Club announced the winners of the Player of the Season awards.

For the men's team, Maxime Estève, Josh Brownhill and Zian Flemming, all picked up trophies.

Centre-back Estève was voted Player of the Season in a public vote by fans. The defender has enjoyed an incredible campaign, with the squad set to smash the all-time record for fewest goals conceded in a Championship season and the team have not conceded more than once in a game the entire campaign.

Upon winning his award Estève said: "This is a top team and we've had a top season. I'm really happy to win this award. I'm grateful to the fans for voting for me, a big thank you."

Captain Josh Brownhill was recognised by his fellow teammates for a brilliant campaign, with the Clarets' top goalscorer, who has netted 18 times, picking up the Players' Player of the Season award.

The midfielder said: "To get the recognition from my teammates for this award means a lot. There's so many great players in this squad, it could have been anybody standing up here. Thank you to the lads for voting for me, it means a lot."

The final men's award was for Goal of the Season. Open to a public vote, the winner was Zian Flemming for his fantastic free-kick against Norwich City in December.

For the women’s team, Claudia Walker, Tilly Wilkes and Aimee Kelly were recognised in the various categories.

Walker was named Player of the Season for a productive first season in Claret and Blue, with the striker managing 12 goals in 29 appearances.

Having got off the mark on debut against Hull City, Walker managed braces against AFC Fylde in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup and Stourbridge in the league before scoring the team’s final goal of the season against Sporting Khalsa at Turf Moor.

On the award Walker said: "It's my first season at the Club and it's amazing to get the recognition with this award. We've got a great group and we're all looking forward to next season."

Wilkes’ hard work and performances in 2024/25 were recognised by her teammates, who chose the left-back as their Players’ Player of the Season.

The 25-year-old has made that defensive position her own this season, featuring in all but four of the team’s 31 matches and producing regular quality from dead-ball situations.

Wilkes added: "I think this is one of the best awards to receive because it's voted for by my teammates. To get their support is incredible so I want to thank them all."

Finally, Kelly’s strike against Stourbridge in January 2025 won the Goal of the Season award, which was decided by a public vote.

The winger made it 7-0 on the day with a right-footed volley from a Reanna Blades cross, and this accolade tops a milestone season in which Kelly bought up her half century of appearances for the Clarets.
