Burnley’s U18 side were beaten 4-0 when they faced Peterborough United in Professional Development League action at idVerde Training Ground.
The Posh found themselves in three goals in front after 15 minutes following a brace from Torin Ntege and a strike from Harry Titchmarsh and sealed the victory in the final minute as Josh Marcon netted.
Tony Philliskirk made three changes from the side that battled to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Watford last time out, with Lewis Forshaw, Dylan Sime and Ryan Tioffo all coming into the side to replace Jon Ander Vilar Robinson, Jack Rogers and Rohan Vaughan respectively.
Jack Bates also made the bench for the first time since the opening game of the season, following a lengthy absence through injury.
First Half
The hosts made a quick start to the game and found themselves in front after two minutes, as Ntege cut inside and fired the ball past a helpless Forshaw into the far corner.

The Clarets looked to immediately strike back, with Rohan Vaughan hitting the outside of the post from a narrow angle after being played through by Sonny Pickup.
Peterborough made Burnley rue that missed chance and added a second on 12 minutes as Titchmarsh picked the ball up on the edge of the area before curling into the bottom corner.
And it was soon three, as the Young Clarets cleared a cross to the edge of the area, that was volleyed back into the area by Torin Ntege and deflected past Burnley stopper Forshaw.
Joe Ashton saw a big chance to get Philliskirk’s side back into the game go begging, as Jack McEvilly flicked the ball onto the Clarets captain, who’s header was tipped over by Posh ‘keeper Jake West.
Second Half
Peterborough almost added a fourth immediately after the break as Reuben Marshall found himself in behind the Clarets backline before lobbing Forshaw and only Noah Adekoya could get back to clear off the goal line.

Forshaw was then called into action himself, denying Marshall well before the substitute Trialist blocked Dennis Kelmendi’s follow-up to keep the score at 3-0.
Dylan Sime and Ashton went close with the former curling an effort over before the latter headed wide after challenging the Peterborough ‘keeper in the air.
Marcon netted the hosts fourth in injury time with a low drilled effort through multiple bodies and into the corner as the Young Clarets fell to defeat on the road.
