As part of the Club’s further development, Burnley FC Women will be given additional investment.
Since February 2021, the women’s team has been integrated into Burnley Football Club, and on the pitch the squad have recently surpassed a whole year unbeaten in the FA Women’s National League.
With long-term ambitions of being in the Women’s Super League, there’s also been landmarks already off the pitch including in relation to a hugely successful partnership with TikTok.
All home league games have been streamed live on the platform over the last two seasons, and the figure of one million unique views was recently reached.
A percentage of the extra investment will come from commercial partnerships, with partners that have all bought into the club's vision and see the huge potential & growth opportunities for their brand within women's football.
Additionally, the club have made the decision to amalgamate social media channels, with only Twitter now separate for the purpose of reporting on matches.
We believe this represents a more aligned approach across the club, with the men’s, women’s and academy teams.
Club chairman Alan Pace said: “We're delighted to be able to announce this further investment for our women's team, another landmark as we continually look to boost women's football.
"As I discussed when I first entered the club, we have a long-term aim of making Burnley FC Women a fully professional team, and on the pitch the side are performing excellently.
"Particularly since the success of the Women's game in this country since EURO2022 last summer, I believe we are entering a new era, which we want to be a part of.
"Women's football has a major role to play in the sport's growth, both short & long-term, and here at Burnley Football Club it can help us to bring in new audiences."
