Burnley’s U18s side were victorious when they welcomed Ipswich Town to the Burnley Training Centre, winning 4-1 in Professional Development League.
Rohan Vaughan gave the Young Clarets the lead early on, before Wiktor Gromek added a second and third before the break.
Dylan Sime put into his own net just after the break before Lucas Wane wrapped up the three points one minute from time.
Tony Philliskirk made five changes to the side that narrowly lost 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, with Lewis Forshaw returning in goal in place of Jon Ander Vilar Robinson, who dropped to the bench.

Logan Carlin, Noah Adekoya, Jack Rogers, and Vaughan were all also back in the side in place of Ollie Sweeney, Jack Bates, a Trialist and Ryan Tioffo respectively.
First Half
The Clarets were in front after six minutes, following a quick start, as Callum West picked up the ball in his own half before sending a ball over the top to find Vaughan who ran onto it and hammered the ball in at the near post.
The Tractor Boys almost levelled with the next clear-cut chance of the game as Trialist C found space on the edge of the area and shot low but was denied well by the returning Forshaw who tipped round the post.
A couple of half chances followed before Philliskirk’s side made it two, as Polish youth international Gromek rode a challenge before expertly arrowing in a strike from distance and finding the bottom corner of Trialist A’s net.
And Gromek would make it three just before the break as Wane drove to the byline and cut the ball back, which was stopped in the box by an Ipswich defender, but Gromek picked up on the loose ball and whipped it into the top corner from 12 yards.

Second Half
The visitors started the second half the better of the two sides and pulled a goal back on 47 minutes, as from a cross, Sime sliced the ball past Forshaw into his own net.
However, the Clarets retook control of the game, and after Vaughan fired over from Gromek’s pass, the latter almost netted his hat-trick from Wane’s cut back, but a Tractor Boys defender was on hand to clear off the line.
Burnley almost sealed the victory four minutes from time, as Wane was brought down after surging through the visitors defence by Henry Curtis and substitute Ryan Tioffo curled the resulting free kick back off the bar.
The Young Clarets did add their fourth a minute from time, as Gromek broke through the midfield and drove towards goal, before unselfishly sliding for Wane to get his name on the scoresheet as he slotted into the net to rubber-stamp the victory.
The U18s are back in action next Saturday – 29th April – when they travel to Leckwith Stadium to face Cardiff City in Professional Development League action (11am KO).
