Nathan Tella believes that there's lessons to be learnt from the Clarets draw with the Bluebirds on Saturday afternoon.
The forward put Burnley ahead on the 47th minute, having been well placed to tap home from an Ian Maatsen assist. However, a Callum Robinson goal in the 89th minute resulted in the points being shared on the day.
Tella on the result:
"It’s frustrating, we know we weren’t at our best, we know there are games where we’ve played so much better than we did today. Fair enough, Cardiff came out and made it difficult for us, but we made it difficult for ourselves. We need to look at ourselves and learn how we can be better than that."
Tella on his goal:
"It was something I’d been talking about this week. Some of the coaches have been saying I need to get to the back post more. When the ball came in from the right-hand side, I was there on the back post and luckily Ian was there on the follow up. Obviously, I was in a good position just to tap it in, so thanks to Ian for the assist. I was on my toes today."

Tella on gaining experience at Burnley:
"I feel like I’m learning more game by game, not all games are going to be amazing, not all games are going to be bad but different bits of the experience I’ll take with me on the journey.
"The thing is with the Championship, we’ve got another game on Wednesday. It’s not enough time to mope around, we need to react for Wednesday."
Tella on scoring goals:
"I’ve always felt confident that I can score, it’s just about me getting into the positions. The way this team plays I feel there’s many opportunities for me to get into the positions to find goals, on the left, down the middle, on the right. Whether it’s from a cross, or from a switch of play, I just feel like I’m getting more confident in front of goal."
Tella on Wednesday night's game against Stoke City:
"We want to win every game, but we definitely want to show a reaction from the game today. I feel like today wasn’t our usual standard, we know how good we can be. I can think of other games where we’ve killed teams off when we were one nil up and made it difficult for them. Today we should have done that, and we didn’t. It’s a frustrating moment so I think we’ve got to hold our hands up and say we need to be better."
