Callum Robinson's 90th minute equaliser at the Cardiff City Stadium ensured the points were shared in a 1-1 draw in Wales.
Nathan Tella gave the Clarets the lead four minutes into the second half, before Robinson equalised in the last minute of game for the home side.
Vincent Kompany made two changes from the side that beat Bristol City last time out, as Jordan Beyer and Manuel Benson made way for Charlie Taylor and Johann Berg Gudmundsson.
First Half
The first real chance of the game fell to the hosts and forward Callum Robinson, as the former Baggies man intercepted the ball and broke towards goal, but dragged his effort wide of the post.
City then forced another opportunity, as Mark Harris nicked the ball from Connor Roberts and teed up Robinson just inside the area, but the forward saw his strike blocked well by the retreating Josh Cullen.
Robinson then came close once again to giving the Bluebirds the lead, after a glancing header from Joe Ralls’ corner sailed just wide of Arijanet Muric’s goal.
The Clarets’ first shot on goal came with 25 minutes played, as Tella weaved into the box, before teeing up Cullen, whose low drilled effort was caught by Ryan Allsop in the City goal.
Kompany’s men then had another chance to break the deadlock before the break, as the Clarets counter attacked from a Cardiff corner, with Tella picking out Josh Brownhill on the edge of the area, with the midfielder then teeing up Gudmundsson, whose effort fizzed narrowly off target.
Second Half
After a fairly even first half in the Welsh capital, the Clarets got off to a dream start in the second 45, as the deadlock was broken.
The move started, as Gudmundsson picked out the advancing Brownhill out on the right, who broke into the area and found Ian Maatsen arriving late in the area, with young Dutchman then firing a low cross back into the box, which reached Tella to turn home from close range and give the visitors the lead in front of the travelling faithful.
Burnley then came close to doubling their lead shortly after, as the ball fell nicely to Cork on the edge of the area, but his effort sailed just over the bar.
Kompany then looked to utilise his bench just after the hour mark, making a triple change, as Rodriguez, Tella and Gudmundsson made way for Barnes, Benson and Zaroury.
