Burnley
Maxwel Cornet hobbled off with cramp during Tuesday’s second half. He is expected to be available for Sunday’s game
Johann Berg Gudmundsson is recovering from an appendix operation and Matej Vydra is in rehabilitation after a hernia operation. They are both expected to be out of action for a few weeks.
Charlie Taylor has missed the last three games with a foot injury. He is getting closer to a return. The former Leeds United defender had been ever present in the Premier League before the trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal last month.
Ashley Barnes had a brief substitute appearance against Manchester United. He is coming back from a thigh injury and featured once again for Burnley U23s vs Everton on Friday night. Tuesday was his first Premier League action since October.
Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp is set to make a late decision on Sadio Mane. He was in the Senegal side that won the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon. He was named Player of the Tournament.
Mo Salah, whose Egypt side were beaten in the AFCON final by Senegal, returned to action off the bench in midweek and could start at Turf Moor.
Captain Jordan Henderson is set to return after picking up a back injury in the FA Cup win over Cardiff City.
Klopp described Luis Diaz’s full Liverpool debut “as one of best I ever saw”. The Colombian joined Liverpool from Porto in the January transfer window. He may start again.
Belgian international Divock Origi is close to returning to the squad after a knee injury. England defender Joe Gomez is back in training after a spell in isolation with Covid-19.
