Burnley drew 1-1 with Manchester United at home on Tuesday with Jay Rodriguez scoring the equaliser, his 100th league goal.
Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Leicester City 2-0 at Anfield on Thursday with Diogo Jota scoring both goals.
Liverpool won the title in 2019/20 for the first time in 30 years and Burnley boss Sean Dyche knows how well Liverpool have done in recent seasons.
"They [Liverpool] are a powerful outfit and obviously a couple of players are back from the nations. They can be direct in their play and use the ball very technically."
However, Dyche stressed Burnley have proved difficult to beat.
"We've only lost eight games which you know, for a side down there, is not that high. We're always talking about the margins and we've got to keep working."
"We asked for a reaction and wanted that and the fans played their part at half-time and stayed behind the players," said Dyche.
In a much improved second 45 minutes, the 13-times Premier League champions didn’t muster a shot on target.
"The players gave a reaction and the second half was pleasing and much more like we want to be like.
"In the end we have to be pleased with a point, it is only a point but it is a positive point.”
Form guide
Burnley are unbeaten in six Premier League home games. They have drawn five of those.
Only Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion have won at Turf Moor in the league this season. However, the 3-1 win over Brentford remains Burnley’s only success this season.
Liverpool have only lost two away games in the Premier League this season, 3-2 at West Ham United and 1-0 at Leicester City.
The Reds are through to the last 16 of the Champions League and are set to face Inter Milan with the first leg in the San Siro on Wednesday.
Opposition guide
Ahead of the weekend, Liverpool trail Manchester City by nine points with a game in hand.
And Reds boss Jurgen Klopp watched Tuesday’s game at Turf Moor.
"I had the pleasure of watching Burnley v Man Utd - this situation explains the PL the best. Bottom of the table, produced incredible quality, pressed high, lots of things, it was a proper team performance and with the stadium, they have a massive chance."
The former Borussia Dortmund watched new signing Wout Weghorst closely.
“They {Burnley} obviously brought in a new striker; yes, they lost Wood but they brought in Weghorst. If you saw the game on Tuesday night then you saw he’s a pretty lively boy. He was pretty much everywhere up front, he fulfils the role of Wood for sure with deflecting balls and stuff like this, but was really very, very active all over the pitch.”
Match stats
If he plays, Aaron Lennon will make his 400th Premier League appearance. Only 39 players have made 400 appearances in the top division since restructuring in 1992. He could face his former Leeds United team mate James Milner (579).
Wout Weghorst scored 59 goals in the Bundesliga. Only Edin Dzeko has scored more for Wolfsburg.
Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane got the goals when Liverpool beat Burnley at Anfield 2-0 in August. Mane’s next Premier League appearance will be his 250th.
