It’s been a busy week for Emma Siddall ahead of Burnley’s second round Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie against Bradford City.
The defender attended the Northwest Football Awards on Monday night, having been shortlisted in the ‘Women’s Rising Star’ category.
There was no shame in losing out to last season’s Women’s Super League Golden Glove winner Khiara Keating, and Siddall explained how she found the evening.
“It was unreal – I’ve never really been around something like that,” she said.
“To be able to go, let alone being in with a chance of winning something, is something I’ll remember forever.
“When you look at the people in my group, to even be thought of something along the lines of where they are now is an unbelievable achievement.
“I’ve got a little bit of a taste of what I can do now, and hopefully I can keep progressing and get somewhere close to that level in the future.”

After the game was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch last weekend, the Clarets are all set for this afternoon’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup tie in Padiham.
Opponents Bradford play in the fifth tier of English football, known as the Northwest Regional Football League.
“We’re expecting a physical and very direct game – similar to Spennymoor Town in the last round,” Siddall continued.
“They bring some different characteristics that we don’t deal with as much in our league, so it will be interesting.
“It’s never the best thing when a game gets cancelled, but the fact we’re able to play it so quickly is a good thing and we’re keen to carry on our momentum.”

The 19-year-old is no stranger to the FA Cup in its various guises, playing in the senior version while on loan at AFC Fylde last season.
Siddall spent the majority of her childhood with Manchester City and got as far as the final of the FA Youth Cup in recent years, but the Cityzens lost out to Chelsea on the day.
In Burnley’s 12-0 first-round victory over Spennymoor Town, the versatile defender was introduced for Mikayla Wildgoose at half-time.
Siddall has played in a variety of positions under Sawiuk and, to finish, looked back on the Spennymoor clash.
“I went with the same energy and attitude to be able to uplift the team and be there in any way that I can, without being on the pitch to begin with,” she said.
“I’ve always been the type of player to be put in anywhere and enjoy it – as long as I’m playing football, that’s all that matters to me really.”
