Connor Roberts netted his third goal of the campaign on Saturday, in the Clarets 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
Speaking after the game the right-back was taking the positives from the performance but was keen to stress there's still improvements the side could make to ensure they get better and keep achieving.
“Yes, I'm happy with the goal and the performance. It’s always nice to win and we’ve done a lot of it thankfully this season. Every game we go into we need to try and win, obviously today was no different, we’ve done that but we’re onto the next one now, on Wednesday night. Hopefully we can win that and then like I say, keep on trying to win and move onto the next one.”
The win racked up Burnley's 14th clean sheet in the league so far this season, which while pleased with, the Welshman wants to improve on even more.
“Yeah, I think we always want to be better so at half-time we even said we were giving them a little bit too much, even though we didn’t give them a great deal, but you know to win 4-0 and give ourselves a pat on the back is good but we can always be better. Hopefully the next game we play even better and reduce them to even less shots or whatever. We’re always trying to push the bar and be better in and out of possession.”
The goal, Robert's third of the season, saw great build up play from the team and a Johann Berg Gudmundsson assist, with the Icelandic almost slotting home himself.
“We’ve played some nice stuff and I think the last two games they’ve been different types of games, Luton and Millwall away, and we’ve kind of battled it out and picked up some nice points from them. Coming here today I think we all realised that it’s a chance for us to show that we are good and we can play nice football and what not.
“My goal was obviously just right place, right time, I think I could have left it but Johey’s [Gudmundsson] scored enough in his career so I thought I’ll have one more thank you!”

It's been a challenging schedule for the Clarets with back-to-back away games, so it was a relief for the squad to be back on home turf in front of the home fans.
“It’s always difficult when you go away, no matter how you try and play, you try and influence the game, it just doesn’t go that way sometimes when you play against certain teams so to come back here we know that if we’re on it and we play as well as we can and we perform all over the pitch then we can kind of create a game that we want. I think we did that today and 4-0 is a brilliant result.”
Roberts believes the afternoon's performance will give positives and confidence for Wednesday night's FA Cup Fifth Round game against Fleetwood Town, who themselves got a win today against Morecambe in League One.
“We’ll take the win and the decent performance but like I say we can always be better so we’re going into that now against Fleetwood, we want to get to the next round so we’ll do our best, try our best and hopefully we can win and get through and then like I say just keep on bettering ourselves really every single game.”
