Head Coach Scott Parker admitted he is pleased with his side's progress across the first 17 games of the campaign and that the team head to Stoke this weekend with 'real energy' following three straight Sky Bet Championship wins.
The Clarets take on the Potters at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, where three points could put Burnley back into the automatic promotion places and Parker is hoping his side can carry their strong form into the trip to Stoke-on-Trent.
Speaking to the press on Thursday afternoon, the Burnley boss said: "We're progressing nicely. Defensively we've been very solid and sound, I think that's just given us the foundation.
"It's a young back unit that have done extremely well and of course the defensive unit isn't just the the back five, but it's the whole team.
"The attacking phase is moving in the right direction, a lot of work goes in at the training ground and I think the last couple of games has shown evidence of what's to come from this team."
On the visit to Stoke and what to expect from City, Parker added: "They’re a solid team, they've been difficult to beat this season. We're going to a tough stadium, a well established team, they know what needs to be done and have some real technical players.
"Defensively they have been very, very sound. We will need to be at our best and go there to try get the result. We will be looking into where we can hurt them, we go there off the back of some good results and real energy and hopefully we can carry that with us into the weekend."
The Head Coach also provided an update on the squad's injured players: "Josh (Brownhill) trained on the grass today. After the weekend’s game it probably came a little too early to play him on Tuesday. He has progressed well, but we will see where we are tomorrow and make a call on that.
"There's good signs with a few of the lads, Joe (Worrall), Lyle (Foster) and Hannes (Delcroix) are all progressing nicely and have been out on the grass.
"It's just about getting game time now, which is key for them. Getting minutes for the 21s and then building that back up to match fitness."
