22/11/2014 – Stoke City 1 – 2 Burnley (Britannia Stadium)
Danny Ings' quick-fire two minute brace saw Burnley claim their first away victory of the season at the Britannia Stadium, following a 2-1 win over Stoke City in the Premier League.
The striker put the Clarets ahead in the 12th minute, before firing home his and Burnley's second just a minute later. City forward Jon Walters did pull a goal back for the hosts, but the away side held on to take all three points.
After a cagey opening 10 minutes in Stoke, Burnley found their opener when Ashley Barnes' low cross into the area was parried away by Asmir Begovic, only for the ball to fall straight into the path of Ings to slot home to give Sean Dyche's side the lead.
The Clarets were looking lively and doubled their advantage just 60 seconds later, as Michael Kightly raced down the left and picked out Ings inside the box to steer it past Begovic for his second of the afternoon.
George Boyd came close to adding a third for Burnley shortly after, but Begovic was equal to the winger's effort to ensure the lead wasn't extended to three goals.
Following a busy start, Stoke looked to get into the game as Bojan Krkic saw an effort deflected wide for a corner, before then providing the cross for the Potters' goal.
The Spaniard curled a perfectly-timed ball into the area for Walters, with the Irishman connecting with a diving header past Tom Heaton to half the deficit on the half-hour mark.
Victor Moses then tested the hands of Heaton, as the winger saw his curled strike pushed away, before Mame Biram Diouf failed to meet a teasing Bojan cross into the area.
City were looking dangerous and had another chance, as Steven Nzonzi fired just over the crossbar from the edge of the area.
Despite a flurry of chances from the hosts to claw a late equaliser, Burnley's defence stood strong to keep Stoke at bay and seal all three points on the road.
