Pope on Tuesday night’s narrow defeat:
"They [Leicester] are a good team and they hung in there at times. Going into the last 10 minutes of the game at 0-0, it was a bit like the Spurs game last week where we could’ve got three points or a point, so we’re disappointed in the end to come away with nothing [tonight]."
Pope on James Maddison’s strike:
"It was a good hit and unfortunately, he picked tonight to pull it out of the bag, but it’s just one of those things that happens in football sometimes and we’ll pick ourselves up.
"We’re on a good trend at the moment, we’ve been playing some good football and unfortunately tonight, I feel like we could’ve done a bit more. We’ll pull ourselves together and we’ve got another one [game] on Saturday [against Chelsea]."
Pope on making three big saves against the Foxes:
"I feel in a good place at the moment, and I feel like the team is as well. I feel part of a team that’s going in the right direction points wise and performance wise recently as well.
"That’s where we want to be at this point in this season, progressing each week. It’s a bit of a setback today but you’re never going to get through the rest of the season unbeaten so it’s very much part and parcel of football and especially Premier League football."
Pope on improved performances of late:
"Our recent performances have been good, we’ve got bodies back fit and look like we have put a really good team together now.
"We’re putting out an 11 every week that are putting in a good performance with players coming off the bench to change things as well."
Pope on losing captain Ben Mee to injury in the first half:
"It’s always difficult to lose someone who plays so many games, so many minutes and someone who is your captain as well.
"It wasn’t easy for Collo [Nathan Collins] coming on either, but I thought he did well. Centre half is one of those positions where you don’t get much time to build into the game.
"You’re very much into it straight away so a tricky one for him and we wish Ben all the best as well. We’ll see where we go with that one."
