Burnley FC Women have a night of cup action under the lights ahead as they welcome Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies tonight in the Semi-Final of the Lancashire FA Women’s Challenge Cup.
The game, which will take place at Lancashire FA’s County Ground, Leyland, was originally due to take place last month, however had to be rescheduled due to bad weather.
Burnley secured their spot in the semi-final with a 4-2 win over Chorley FC Women, while opposition Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies stormed to victory with a 3-1 win over Haslingden Ladies to reach this stage of the competition.
The winner of the tie will face AFC Fylde Women, with the Coasters 4-0 win over West Didsbury & Chorlton Women last weekend securing their spot in the final.
The Clarets have not played since their league win at home to table toppers Derby County Women on the 30th January, so will be looking forward to being back in action this evening.
Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies currently sit fifth in the North West Women’s Regional League, two tiers below Burnley, who sit sixth in their respective league - the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women’s National League.
Tonight’s game will take place at Lancashire FA’s County Ground, Leyland. KO is 7:30pm and admission is free.
