Second-half goals from James Maddison and Jamie Vardy earned the Foxes victory, which ended the Clarets’ three-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
Dyche on the performance:
“We weren’t as good as we have been, particularly in the first-half, we just let soft things go against us, we didn’t get the ball forward quick enough, in the second-half we started to get a grip of the game.
“We put a lot into these performances, we were chasing the game, but we’ve had chances, Maxwel has a great chance against the keeper and Wout from a set-piece, but we didn’t ask enough questions of Leicester.
“We overall weren’t at it, we expect a lot out of the players, but I don’t want to be too critical as we’ve had a really strong run with some good results, so we’ve got to remember that.
“Popey made a couple of great saves, one to his left in the first-half and in the second-half, one he’d expect to make towards the centre of his goal, but defensively we just weren’t where we have been with the feel of it, we didn’t have that dominant feel, we passed the ball too short, we played backwards too many times.

“We know that there’s times where players haven’t been on top of their performance during the season, where we have been lately, but we’ve had performances where a quiet player has had a good performance, but we were way off.
“We looked a threat from set-pieces but other than that we didn’t ask enough questions of their defensive unit or attack with the vigour that we know we can.
“We weren’t quite where we have been in the previous seven games.”
Dyche on player squad fitness and mentality:
“We ask a lot of these players. Charlie Taylor, who has hardly had any football, comes back in after what happened with Erik, we needed a freshness with Westy to come back in, he’s a very good player, we know Maxwel is getting to Premier League fitness, Connor is learning, there’s a lot going on in that side.
“Nick was excellent as he has been lately, but we owed them the two big chances when Maxwel goes through and Wout has a sliding finish which you’d usually expect him to finish.
“We have been on a very strong run, the mentality has been excellent, we aren’t far off where we want to be.”
Dyche on the schedule:
“That edge that we’ve had wasn’t quite where we needed it to be, there wasn’t enough going forward with the feel or the tempo.
“We’ve had a lot of games, we’ve been on a long run, and it’s been demanding, there’s been a lot of travel as well, but there wasn’t a lack of physical output tonight, it was just the details.
“It’s been very tough, we’ve been working really hard, mixing things up and making sure that we can be as competitive as we can.
“We’ve got ourselves back in and round where we need to be, we’re always a work in progress and we have to work hard for everything that we’ve got.”
