Scott Parker was proud of his players, despite Cristian Romero's late equaliser denying Burnley a much-needed victory at Turf Moor.
Speaking to the media at full-time, Parker was left to reflect on what might have been, as the Clarets were held to a share of the spoils for the third successive Premier League outing.
DISAPPOINTED BUT PROUD
"I thought we did enough to win the game, so we’re all hugely disappointed to concede an equaliser so late in.
"You always understand that the dynamics of football mean they’ll commit extra players forward at that stage of the game - and it was one of those that came up with their equaliser in the dying stages.
"We’re all really disappointed we couldn’t hold on after another really good performance from the team.
"When I put my head on the pillow tonight, I’ll do so reflecting on more positives and a performance we can be proud of."
FANS SPURRED US ON
"It was a brilliant atmosphere today. The best atmosphere of the season so far.
"I thought the fans were superb and really spurred us on. We were all in it together and that makes us stronger."
MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
"Of course I understand we need to get wins here - but we continue to move in the right direction.
"We’ve got an unbelievably tight group.
"I’ve not seen any edginess or nerves, despite the situation we find ourselves in.
"We’ve improved massively. We’re improving all the time. We’ll keep going."
FOSTER IMPACT
"I was pleased for Lyle. He made a big difference when he came on and was in the right place at the right time to score a good goal.
"We missed him when he was at AFCON. He’s a big threat.
"The subs made a really positive impact, which is hugely pleasing."
MORE FINE MARGINS
"It’s the finest of margins at this level. We’ve spoken about it a lot this season but it’s what the Premier League is all about.
"We’re learning, there’s some real positives to take - and that gives me unbelievable hope.
"We need to turn draws into wins but there also needs to be some perspective of what we’re coming up against in this hugely competitive division."
