Axel Tuanzebe was frustrated that, despite being more than competitive against Tottenham Hotspur and coming close to a win, a late Cristian Romero equaliser meant it was a point gained on the day rather than three.

“Ultimately, we’re disappointed, the win was definitely there for us to take today, and we fell short right at the end. It’s frustrating when you concede a goal late on.”

“Knowing it was my first Premier League goal wasn’t on my mind at the time it was just more so getting back into the game with the team and driving spirits up. I think we showcased a much better second half though."

FRUSTRATION AT CONCEDING LATE ON

“I think it’s just a case of we’ve not won in a while, so it almost gets a little bit tense to try and hold out and go for the win. We sort of stopped doing the things that we were doing earlier, and thought ‘Ok let’s hold out’. But in actual fact we should have just continued doing what we were doing because clearly it was working.

“We learn from these situations and we look forward now; we have Sunderland next Monday. It’ll be a good game. We beat them before and we’ll be looking to beat them again.”

ON THE NEXT OPPONENT SUNDERLAND

“It’s not a case to underestimate Sunderland, they’ve been having a fantastic season, and we’ll treat them with the same respect as all the other teams that we’ve played these past few weeks. So, we’ll respect them but at the same time we need the wins and that’s what we’ll be going there to do.”
