Head Coach Scott Parker insists his team 'will give it a real good go' when they head to Portsmouth on Saturday, but is expecting a tough test against John Mousinho's men on the south coast.

The Clarets head to Fratton Park off the back of a goalless draw with Leeds United and on a 17 match unbeaten run and Parker is hoping his side can continue their form this weekend.

Speaking to the media on Thursday ahead of the clash, Parker said: "Monday wasn't the best game, we know that and our intention was to go out there and win the game. We didn't do that, but we also stopped Leeds, who are top of the league, from scoring and executed them from being a threat.

"It's a good point for us overall, but we need to back it up this weekend at Portsmouth. At home they are a real force and it's a difficult place to go, they are unbeaten in seven of their last eight home games.

"They're an aggressive team, it's a tight stadium with the supporters right on top and we are well aware of the challenges that they will pose.

"We will need to give it a real good go down there and be at our best. We have been good away from home this season, so hopefully we can continue that on Saturday."

Although Monday's draw with Leeds was the sixth goalless draw of the campaign at Turf Moor, Parker says he and his team are 'working every day' to ensure the goals will come on a regular basis for his side.

"We want to have both sides of our game, that is the intention. Every day we work and look to try to be an attacking free flowing team that looks the full package. The reality is that we can't have both (strong defensive record) in such a short space of time.

"A week ago we scored five goals against Plymouth, we could have scored more, but then on Monday we don't score against the top of the league, it happens."

When asked for an update on the fitness of players still ruled out with injury, Parker added: "Everyone you would expect to be fit, is fit. Benny (Benson), Enock (Agyei), Redmond and Ramsey are all getting there and edging closer. They're all heading in the right direction."
