Head Coach Scott Parker admitted he was ‘delighted with everything’ after Burnley blew away Luton Town with four goals to none at Turf Moor.

The Clarets looked dangerous from the off and after an early red card and own goal for the visitors, Lyle Foster, Josh Brownhill and Ashley Barnes were all on hand to add to the scoring in a convincing victory.

Speaking post-match, Parker was pleased to see his side claim all three points but also put in a dominant performance, which saw the Clarets create a number of opportunities throughout.

“I'm delighted with everything. First and foremost we've come here to try and get three points, that's where we are at this stage of the season with 11 games today to go, now 10.

“You obviously want three points, but I think we've got everything today, performance too, so I’m really pleased with everything."

Parker continued: “I think I’m right in saying we faced 10 men once this season, the Blackburn game, and it proved problematic.

“You've probably seen that over the history of certain games, sometimes the team goes down to 10 men and they retreat a little bit, defend their goal and it's very hard to break down.

“But the first goal comes at a great time for us and then after that I thought we had a real patience about us, we created numerous chances, really had a patience to our play, we probed, served our wingers at times in really threatening areas, they executed and obviously we managed to score four goals, which was pleasing.”

After Mark McGuinness' own goal, Foster then fired in his second goal of the campaign and Parker confessed his delight for the forward.

"I was buzzing for Lyle. It's been clear that maybe over the course of the last few games, Lyle's missed some big chances, but fundamentally, he's a boy with an absolutely humongous heart, passion, desire, and I think you saw that today.

“Eyes don't lie when you step in a football stadium. First and foremost, you step over a line and I think one thing the fanbase want and people want is an energy, a desire, a passion, Lyle seems to always deliver that, so I was pleased that he managed to get his goal."

The victory over the Hatters saw Burnley extend their unbeaten league run to 23 consecutive matches and Parker said he is 'proud' of his side and where they currently are.

“The team have been very, very good and I'm immensely proud of the team in terms of where we are. This is a long, long road and this Championship season brings up many games and many challenges. Every challenge that's come at us, we seem to hit head-on.

“Today was a tough, tough game. This is a team fighting for their lives and still with quality in the side, a team that was in the Premier League only last season really.

“We stuck to principles. Traits and habits in this team seem to be very consistent, which has given us a chance.”
