Skipper Ben Mee believes Burnley are ‘showing good signs’ that a first league win of the season is just around the corner.
The Clarets were narrowly denied three points at Leicester City last week after a late VAR decision overturned Chris Wood’s strike – and are looking to bounce back against Norwich City on Saturday.
While the centre-back is aware his team need a win as soon as possible, he remains positive about recent performances ahead of the Turf Moor clash.
Mee, 32, said: “We have been unfortunate but are disappointed not to have yet got a win.
“We have been close, so that is the frustrating part, when you don’t turn good performances into points.
“I think we are showing good signs of our work coming together and I’m fully confident we’ll get a win in the coming weeks.
“The manager doesn’t need to say too much (about the situation) – we all know ourselves as players where we need to be.
“But I can’t wait to get out there, get a win and start moving up the table. I have every confidence that we will.
“We’re a good side now, and we’ve got a good squad. It feels like the squad has come together well and that has improved the feeling around the training ground.
“I have every confidence we’ll start picking up points.”
Despite missing out on three points at Leicester in such heart-breaking fashion, the club captain insists the manner of the 2-2 draw hasn’t damaged the mindset of the Clarets players.
He added: “I think not having that first win would play on our minds a little bit more if we weren’t playing well and really struggling.
“But that has not been the case – we have had some really good performances.
“Away from home we have played Liverpool, Everton and Leicester – big teams and we have performed reasonably well in all of them.
“It would be more concerning for the group if we weren’t doing well and weren’t anywhere near a result.
“But I think we are near it and we’ll look to get the points to show how well we are playing.”
Although the Clarets’ upcoming opponents are also yet to taste a Premier League victory this season – losing six from six – Mee ruled out any danger of the hosts underestimating Daniel Farke’s Canaries.
Norwich endured a tough opening run of fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester City, Leicester and Arsenal and Mee said: “They are a good side and have had some tough games in fairness to them.
“We will be looking to use home advantage, to get after them, get in their faces and make it difficult.
“I’ll be certainly looking for three points for sure, and everyone has confidence. We just need to trust ourselves, go out and do the job.”
