Brad Colston joins club on permanent basis

We are delighted to announce that Brad Colston will lead our FIFA 22 Esports Team for another season and beyond.

As part of the club’s ambition to further embed itself in the Esports scene, Brad has joined the club on a permanent basis as both an Esports pro-player and a new addition to our media department.

The new look FIFA Global Series will see Brad switch from XBOX to PS5 and compete at the highest level, representing the club.

Last season Brad had his best ever season finishing in the top 25 in the FIFA World Cup European Playoffs, narrowly missing out on a place in the World Cup Finals which were eventually cancelled due to COVID. Brad is aiming to go one better alongside his new team mates in a new look team that will be announced in the coming weeks.

Brad commented on his contract extension: “This upcoming season I want nothing but success; I will give it my all and perform at my highest possible level to make sure that not only for myself, that I can prove that I am one of the best in the world, but that my hometown club, which I have supported my entire life, is regarded as one of the best esports teams in the world.”

Steve Hawthorn, Head of Esports, said: “Having Brad represent his hometown club for at least another season and on a full-time basis is massive for us and shows Burnley FC's commitment to Esports.

"I’m sure Brad had plenty of offers from a lot of other organisations as he had a great year.

"I’m looking forward to the season kicking off with some new additions to the team and other plans in the pipeline to enhance Burnley FC’s Esports, with Brad leading from the front."
