Brenna McPartlan has had an enjoyable few weeks, capped by playing and scoring at Turf Moor on Sunday.
The midfielder pulled on a claret shirt for the first time in 77 days the week prior, playing the first hour of the team’s away game at Stoke City.
That came shortly after the 24-year-old made her senior Northern Ireland debut in their 3-1 EURO 2025 qualifier victory over Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Speaking on the pitch at Turf Moor after the final whistle, she said: “I’m just buzzing to be back playing consistently so to get 90 minutes in the legs was great.
“Being at Turf Moor obviously made it an even better occasion, too.”
McPartlan, a holding midfielder, scored her 10th goal of the season in all competitions against Liverpool Feds in BB10.
“Rhema (Lord-Mears) put in a great corner and she nearly scored herself, but they knocked it off the line," she continued.
“I was just there to knock it in and it was really great to celebrate in front of a big crowd.
“It was a lovely feeling – I was buzzing to see all my team-mates so happy and to hear the crowd in the background too was a great feeling.”

In her post-match comments, Head Coach Rebecca Sawiuk expressed her belief that Burnley delivered a controlled performance against the Merseysiders. That’s something that McPartlan echoed.
“We had complete control of the game for the majority and were really pleased with our performance,” she said.
“The last time we played against them it was quite a transitional game, so we’re really happy with the overall performance this time around.
“Knowing that it’s now in our hands going into the final league fixture is a positive. We’re aiming to finish as high as we possibly can and right now that’s 2nd place.
“We obviously got a lot closer to that today and we’ll try and finish the job against Derby.”
Before that game, the team’s full focus is on tonight’s Lancashire FA Women’s Senior Cup final against West Didsbury & Chorlton.
McPartlan scored twice as Burnley eased past AFC Fylde 6-0 in the semi-finals and the midfielder is looking forward to taking to the County Ground pitch in Leyland.
“It’s quite a quick turnaround from Feds – we had Monday off before being back together as a group on Tuesday for analysis, training and recovery.
“I’m buzzing to just get out there again and hopefully we can get another win and a trophy too.”
