The Northern Irish midfielder spoke following the 4-2 victory over Forest

Brenna McPartlan netted her first goal for the Club against Nottingham Forest in the 4-2 win in the FA Women’s National League North on Sunday in what she said was a ‘proud moment’.

The midfielder joined the Clarets back in August and has been a mainstay in Rebecca Sawiuk’s side ever since, playing in all six of the Clarets fixtures in both league and cup this season.

On her goal, the 24-year-old said: “It was a proud moment and a good feeling, and I think that it was an important goal to put us 3-2 up and it felt as good as a winner.

“Nottingham Forest are always competing to win the league, so to ever beat a team of this quality is a great feeling.

“I think it was a great all-round performance from us, and that showed as we got a great win.

The Claret Women have made seven new signings this season, with all seven featuring in different capacities in the 2023/24 campaign.

And McPartlan believes that performances will continue to improve as the new arrivals begin to gel more within the side and had praise for fellow goalscorer Millie Ravening as she looked ahead to next week’s game against Newcastle United.

She added: “I’m loving it here and the girls are great, we’re really getting on well and I think that our performances are getting better each week because of it.

“Millie [Ravening] is a great player and she’s always scoring wonder goals so she’s a great player to have on our team.”

“We’ll be going for all three points against Newcastle as we know a good result will put us in a great position going forward for the rest of the season.”
