Burnley Football Club can confirm that Tommy McDermott has joined Sky Bet League Two side Shrewsbury Town on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Having featured in both the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup for Scott Parker’s Clarets last season, the move is an opportunity for McDermott to gain more senior experience.
The 20-year-old moved to Lancashire from Port Vale in January 2024, making himself a regular in Andy Farrell’s U21s side and scoring 12 goals in all competitions last season.
He now links up with the Shrews, who are managed by Michael Appleton and travel to Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup first round tomorrow night.
