Matt Lowton is looking for the result to kick-start the Clarets’ season as they hit the road to Brighton.
Burnley head to the south coast sitting bottom of the Premier League with one point from their opening six games.
But victory at the Amex Stadium in the opening game of the weekend may be enough to get Sean Dyche’s men out of the bottom three.
And a first league success of the campaign on a ground where the Clarets have never lost in the Premier League would also put them just a point behind the Seagulls, who are without a win in five top-flight games.
“It’s always nice to get the first win on the board in the season,” said Lowton.
“We’re relaxed. We’re not panicking, but we want to get it sooner rather than later so we can build on that and take momentum into the following games and try and put a run together.

“We’ve been here before where we’ve had sticky situations at points in the season so we’ll be looking to draw on those experiences and hopefully we can get a result soon which will give us that momentum.
“We often seem to get one result and kick right on and we are looking to do that.
“It’s going to be a tough game. They are a good side which likes to move the ball quickly through the lines.
“It’s up to us to try and negate that. We’ve had some good games against Brighton over the years and come out with some good points and it’s up to us to go and take the game to them and hopefully we can get three points and if we do it will hopefully kick-start the season.”
Statistically, the Clarets have made their least productive start at this stage of Premier League campaign.
Two seasons ago, Sean Dyche’s men also collected just one point from their first five domestic fixtures as they balanced their commitments with a Europa League qualifying campaign.
In the sixth game they beat Bournemouth 4-0 to launch a burst of seven points from three games ahead of an international break.
Friday evening’s game at Brighton also comes just before a two-week hiatus for the international calendar.

And Lowton hopes history repeats itself as Burnley look to bounce back from a below-par performance in 3-0 defeat to Chelsea after securing their first point in their last away trip at West Bromwich Albion last month.
“It’s early days. Obviously, we’d rather not be where are but it’s early and a couple of results can change the table for us,” added the Clarets’ defender.
“We’ve been here before and come through a couple of tough times since I’ve been here.
“We have started slowly, especially the European season is one that springs to mind.
“We just have to stick at it. We know that we can get through it.
“It’s getting our first win on the board and getting a bit of momentum and carrying it through.
“We’re definitely capable of doing it. We’ve done it before and it’s up to us as a squad to work hard and put things right.
“Being here before helps. We’re not panicking. We’re still relaxed and the group of lads we’ve got here are willing to work hard and put things right.
“The manager is keeping us all calm and making sure we’re working hard and looking forward, rather than dwelling on what’s happened up to now, and hoping to get a win and some momentum so that we can kick on.”
