Tony Philliskirk’s side will be searching for their third consecutive win in the U18 Premier League, as the Clarets travel to Newcastle United.
Philliskirk’s side, who have beat Sunderland and Leeds United in their two outings, will be looking for more of the same on Tyneside this weekend.
And midfielder Dylan Moonan, who found the net in the 3-1 win over the Black Cats, admits the confidence is high around the group, but knows they are in for a tough game.
The second-year scholar said: “The confidence is really high; we have been happy with the performances we have put in so far this season and the last two wins has been a fair reflection of that.
“But we know Newcastle are a top, competitive side, as are every team at this level, and so we expect a lot of quality on the ball and a typical Newcastle team who will be full of passion.
“We accept that these types of teams will have more possession of the ball than us, so it is important that we stay concentrated, have good defensive shape and hopefully cause them real problems when we break forward.
“With the transition to Category One we knew that we would face much harder opposition, but so far, the lads have been excellent, and we have been unfortunate with some of the results.
“The difference at this level is that you get punished for mistakes, which we learnt from the first few fixtures, and so the coaches pointed out that we need to manage games better.

“It is something that we discussed prior to the last two fixtures and we have turned our good performances into three points, so hopefully we can continue to do the same.”
