16 Clarets players are currently out on season-long loan deals across nine leagues and three countries, including the Premier League, Vanarama National League North & Belgian Pro League.
That tally includes nine players from the academy here at the Club, with Owen Dodgson yesterday scoring his first-ever senior goal in Rochdale’s draw with Mansfield Town. Clean sheets were the order of the day elsewhere, including for Will Norris and Peterborough United.
Here’s a round-up of how the last eight loanees, in alphabetical order, have fared with their clubs since our last edition of ‘Loan Watch: Part Two' back on 3rd April.

Lukas Jensen (Accrington Stanley)
Goalkeeper Jensen’s Easter weekend brought with it two contrasting results, both with 3-0 scorelines.

First keeping a clean sheet as Stanley came out on top at home against Port Vale on Good Friday, the Danishman then ended Monday on the losing side at Hillsborough as promotion-chasing Sheffield Wednesday took all three points. Stanley remain two points off safety in the Sky Bet League One relegation zone.

Luke McNally (Coventry City)
A division above in the Sky Bet Championship, Irishman McNally picked up two points from his two Easter games at Coventry.
Also keeping a clean sheet, the centre back played his part in Friday’s goalless draw at Swansea City before the Sky Blues came from two down at the break on home soil yesterday to draw 2-2 with Watford. Mark Robins’ men are three points off the play-offs at the time of writing.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Queens Park Rangers (A)
Matt Lowton (Huddersfield Town)
Fellow defender Lowton was an unused substitute in both of Huddersfield’s games over Easter as the Terriers earned four points to move further clear of the relegation zone.

Neil Warnock’s side picked up a third straight win when they won 3-2 at Watford on Friday, and looked like they were on for a fourth yesterday lunchtime, but conceded in the 91st minute to draw 2-2 with Blackburn Rovers at the John Smith’s Stadium.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Swansea City (A)
Michael Mellon (Morecambe)
Currently injured, striker Mellon missed Morecambe’s 3-1 defeat at home to promotion-chasing Plymouth Argyle on Friday as well as their goalless draw at Portsmouth on Easter Monday.
The Shrimps are five points off safety in the Sky Bet League One relegation zone with four games left to play this season. Others around them also have games in hand.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Wycombe Wanderers (H)
Owen Dodgson (Rochdale)
The star of the show this week, full-back Dodgson played a big part in Dale’s four points over the weekend as they look to avoid the drop in Sky Bet League Two.

Starting on Friday at home against Walsall, where a 4-2 scoreline made it two wins in a row, he then rifled in a leveller away at Mansfield Town yesterday to earn a point from a 1-1 draw.
That his first ever senior goal, Dodgson has missed just five minutes of action since making the move to Greater Manchester in January. Dale have lost just one of their last five, but remain six points adrift of safety with Bradford City – and Dara Costelloe – next on the agenda.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Bradford City (H)
Sam Waller (Lancaster City)
Shot stopper Waller endured a busier week than most with Lancaster in the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division, playing three matches in six days.
First earning a point from a 1-1 draw at Liversedge last Tuesday night, the Dolly Blues were then beaten 2-1 in consecutive games by the teams 4th and 3rd in the league at the time of writing respectively in Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday and Bamber Bridge yesterday.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Ashton United (A)
Will Norris (Peterborough United)

While Waller looks set for a mid-table finish, fellow ‘keeper Norris’ promotion hopes are still very much alive and kicking with Peterborough in Sky Bet League One.
He kept a clean sheet away at Shrewsbury Town on Good Friday where the Posh ran out 3-0 winners, and they then won 3-1 at the Weston Homes Stadium yesterday against Exeter City. It’s now six wins in eight for Darren Ferguson’s men, who sit 5th with a two-point cushion to 7th inside the play-off spots.
This week’s game(s): SAT – Cambridge United (A)
Wout Weghorst (Manchester United)
United also enjoyed two wins in the Premier League, though Netherlands international Weghorst didn’t feature quite as heavily.
