Dodgson comes off the bench to grab late assist in this week’s loan watch

Part Two of this week’s ‘Loan Watch’

13 players are currently on loan deals away from the Club, across various leagues and countries, including the Danish Superliga, Scottish Premiership, German Bundesliga and Turkish Süper Lig.

This tally includes players from the first team, U21s and U18s, and below is a round up of how the final six players, in alphabetical order, fared in this week’s fixtures.

Michael Mellon (Morecambe)

Mellon and Morecambe stretched their unbeaten run in the league to four games as the on-loan striker played 72 minutes in a convincing 3-1 victory against Colchester United.

That result moves the Shrimps up to 10th place in the Sky Bet League Two table, as they sit on 18 points after 11 games.

Next up for Derek Adams’ side is a home game against Barrow in the EFL Trophy, in their final game before the international break, with their scheduled game against Crawley Town called off due to international call-ups.

This week’s game(s): TUE – Barrow (H)

Owen Dodgson (Barnsley)

Dodgson came on for the final nine minutes of Barnsley’s trip to Exeter City and was an effective substitute as he assisted John McAtee’s 89th minute winner as they won 1-0.

That late winner moves the Tykes up to third in the table, as they pick up back-to-back Sky Bet League One victories.

Neill Collins’ team’s scheduled game against Bolton Wanderers – due to take place on Saturday – has been postponed due to international call-ups, so there is no game for Barnsley until after the international break.

Samuel Bastien (Kasımpaşa S.K.)

Midfielder Bastien started his first game for his Turkish loan side, as they came up just short against leaders Fenerbahce, as Edin Džeko and Dušan Tadić netted for the visitors in the 2-0 defeat.

Following the DR Congo international’s 62 minutes on the pitch, Kemal Özdeş’ side have dropped down to eighth in the table, and still sit on 12 points.

The international break now follows for Bastien, as Kasımpaşa return to action with a game against Sivasspor on October 22nd.

This week’s game(s): N/A

Sam Waller (Hyde United)

Waller played 90 minutes alongside fellow U21 Jack Turner, as the Tigers won 3-1 in their FA Trophy fixture against Workington away from home.

Hyde are currently sat in midtable, as they are 11th after ten league games so far this season, and have accumulated 16 points.

Avro away from home follows this game for the Tigers, in the Manchester Premier Cup, before they face Bradford (Park Avenue) in league action on Saturday.

This week’s game(s): WED – Avro (A), SAT – Bradford (Park Avenue) (A)
