Burnley FC Women are back in action – three days after their last fixture – when they welcome Halifax to the Lancashire FA County Ground in FA Women’s National League North action on Wednesday night.
The Claret Women were last in action on Sunday, when they took on Stourbridge, also at home, and recorded an impressive 4-1 victory.
Stourbridge opened the scoring with Jess Lowe winning a penalty for the visiting side, and despite Kirsty Levell making the save, Kelsey Richardson tapped in the rebound.
Leah Embley scored the equaliser for the Clarets before Aimee Kelly put them in front just before the break.
Millie Ravening gave the Clarets a two-goal cushion and Clarets captain Alethea Paul bagged her first goal for the Club to secure the three points.

That result strengthened the Clarets position at the top of the league table, moving them onto 16 points, three clear of second-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wednesday’s opponent’s Halifax – managed Rob Mitchell, come into this game after only playing four times this season, winning two, drawing one and losing one.
Last time out, the Eagles fell short against Stoke City in the FA Women’s National League North, losing 3-1.
Monique Watson netted for Halifax, but her goal wasn’t enough to avoid defeat at home to the Potters.
In their previous meeting, the Claret Women came out on top, winning 5-1 against the then Brighouse Town back in March.

The Clarets took the lead through Millie Ravening, before Lucy Sowerby equalised for the visitors, all within the first 10 minutes of the game.
Ravening struck her brace to put Burnley back in front and Evie Priestley scored to establish a two-goal advantage before the break.
Leah Embley and Dom Cooper added goals in the second half to see the Clarets through to a fifth successive win in the league.
Season ticket holders will enjoy free entry to Wednesday night’s game, with adult tickets priced at £5 and concessions at £2.
If you cannot make it to Leyland tonight, the game will be live streamed on the Club’s official TikTok channel, with live commentary from Matt Jones, and full coverage will be available on X @BurnleyFCWomen.
