Burnley Football Club can confirm that striker Joe Westley has joined National League side Rochdale on an initial 28-day loan deal.
Initially joining the Clarets in 2021, Westley signed his first professional contract in January 2023 having impressed with his goalscoring exploits in the U18s.
The 19-year-old spent the second half of 2023/24 on loan at AFC Fylde, making his senior debut and totalling three goals and two assists before returning to score in the U21s’ Central League Cup final victory over Derby County.
Westley was named as a substitute for the Clarets’ Carabao Cup trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the back end of August and made his first U21s appearance of the season last weekend.
He now continues his development with ‘The Dale’, who are managed by Jimmy McNulty and sit 4th in the National League table after six matches.
