Manager Vincent Kompany believes the Clarets will look back at the point at Birmingham on Wednesday night as a 'good point' later in the season.
Johann Gudmundsson's first goal of the campaign was cancelled out by Scott Hogan's equaliser minutes later and post-match Kompany discussed the result, Gudmundsson's strike and praised the away support.
Kompany on the result and performance:
"It's a point gained for us. I'm disappointed the way that we conceded the goal, but we're playing against a team in form and I like the squad they have built here.
"They're a difficult side, we have played them in a moment where they are doing well, so a point away from home is not so bad.
"We came here to win, but it's a tough place to come, all things considered it's not a bad point at all and we will be pleased when we look back later in the year."
Kompany on Gudmundsson's goal:
"I am really pleased for him, I know exactly where he has been and how dark a place it can be for a professional, with as much ability as him to suffer so much.
"Then to come back into it and then tonight he is probably feeling a lot of people over the years maybe doubted him and his return and written him off.
"So I'm really happy for him, it's a great strike and he has fantastic ability."
Kompany on Maatsen and Beyer's absence:
"Ian got a cut, which was unfortunate for him and us and that's what made him unavailable for selection tonight.
"Jordon is more of a pre-caution, he felt a little something in training and we just can't make them risks.
"It's one, two, three games in a few days, so you lose him for longer if you chance it."
Kompany on the away support at St. Andrews:
"They were terrific again, they travel every week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, wherever the location.
"We could hear them throughout the whole game again tonight and I'm sure they will be at Sunderland again on the weekend in their numbers."
The Clarets are next in action on Saturday 22nd, where Kompany's men travel to Sunderland in the Sky Bet Championship.
