Burnley FC Women will take on AFC Fylde Women in the First Round of this season’s Lancashire FA Women’s Challenge Cup.
The tie has been confirmed for Sunday, 20th November at the County Ground in Leyland with a 2pm kick-off.
Although the Claret Women play their home league games at the same venue, they will be classed as the ‘away side’ in this game, played at a neutral venue, having been drawn out in that order.
Jonathan Morgan’s side have pleasant memories of their recent meetings with the Coasters having won 4-2 away from home earlier this season in the league, and before that defeated their North West neighbours in last season’s cup final of the same competition.
That game, which came back in March, saw Burnley win the regional cup competition for the first time in the Club’s history courtesy of a 4-1 win when Evie Priestley (2), Millie Ravening & Courtney Willis were on the scoresheet.
Ticket details for this term’s First Round tie will be confirmed in due course.
