Vincent Kompany had high praise for his team after the 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion at Turf Moor, and re-enforced the need for Turf Moor to continue as a fortress.
Conceding early, the Clarets came from behind against the Baggies with Nathan Tella netting a leveller before Scott Twine came off the bench to net the winner with his first-ever goal for the Club three minutes from time.
It’s now 10 successive wins in all competitions at Turf Moor, and eight consecutive maximum point-hauls in the league, a run Kompany couldn’t be happier with.
Speaking post-match, he said: “I’m really happy and pleased for the guys, drained and tired but pleased for them. It was such a good performance.

“They [West Brom] have been so good, and we knew they’d back themselves coming here which we felt was the danger.
“There was a challenge there for us because at their place [earlier in the season], they dominated and we probably could’ve lost, the result sometimes doesn’t tell the story.
“This could’ve been the moment for them to get revenge in front of our fans, but we wanted to get one up and we did that in the end.”
The Clarets chief also paid special recognition to Twine for the winner, an inch-perfect free-kick from the edge of the area.
Kompany added: “One of the players behind me on the bench said it should’ve been a penalty for the foul, but I said ‘for Twiney this is a penalty’.

“That’s his quality, he’s scored so many of those free-kicks in the years he’s had as a professional footballer. I knew it was a really big opportunity, that’s how it felt.
“I’m really happy for him and I know how ecstatic he is about it just from the smile on his face, I think everyone can tell!”
Kompany also hailed another terrific showing of support at Turf Moor on a typically-wintery East Lancashire night.

Nearly 20,000 were in attendance to watch Burnley complete the comeback, and the boss described how much of a special place the Clarets home is to him.
“I want any team that comes here, today it was West Brom and tomorrow it might be a Premier League team or a League One team, it really doesn’t matter, but everyone has to come into hell.
“It really does have to be that hostile. A lot will be said about the football, but most of the focus is on attitude and behaviour. Being aggressive towards every ball for example, the fans live for that and I feel we’ve built a good relationship with them here now.”
