Burnley extended their impressive winning run in the Sky Bet Championship to eight games and made it 10 victories in a row at Turf Moor in dramatic fashion, thanks to Scott Twine's impeccable 87th minute winner.
Albion defender Darnell Furlong opened the scoring early on for the visitors before Nathan Tella equalised for the Clarets in the 75th minute, bagging his ninth of the campaign. Twine then came off the bench to fire home a free-kick from the edge of the area in the final minutes to seal a comeback success.
Manager Vincent Kompany made three changes from the side that beat Coventry City last weekend as Samuel Bastien replaced the suspended Jack Cork in midfield, with Ashley Barnes and Nathan Tella coming in for Jay Rodriguez and Manuel Benson in attack.
First Half
It only took the Baggies six minutes to take the lead on a wintery evening in Lancashire, with Furlong guiding home a header from John Swift’s corner into the back of the net.
The hosts looked for a response shortly after as Anass Zaroury’s pin-point cross was headed just wide of the target by Barnes, who was making his 250th league appearance in Claret and Blue.

Midway through the first half Burnley came close again to equalising as Barnes latched onto a ball over the top, before seeing his low cross into the area deflected by former Claret Erik Pieters onto the post.
Barnes was involved for a third time in search of an equaliser as the first 45 minutes drew to a close, this time seeing his fierce effort from Zaroury’s fizzing cross crash off the bar as the Baggies hung on in despair.
Despite Kompany’s men dominating the majority of the half and enjoying plenty of the ball the visitors hung on to ensure they headed into the break in front.
Second Half
The Clarets carried their momentum from the first half into the second and had early appeals for a penalty turned down, after Jayson Molumby handled the ball in the area, but referee Jarred Gillett denied the spot-kick.
Kompany turned to his bench on the hour mark introducing Benson and Rodriguez for Barnes and Bastien as the home side pushed for a goal.
Josh Brownhill then tried his luck from close range, after seeing his effort from inside the box sail just over the bar.
But with 15 minutes to go the Clarets got their deserved goal, as Tella raced towards goal from Zaroury's pass and fired low past Palmer in the Albion goal to pull the scores level.
The hosts pushed for a winner with Brownhill's goalward effort being blocked for a corner as the Baggies' defence stood strong to keep Burnley out.
With three minutes to go though, the winner came as Twine stepped up for a free-kick on the edge of the area finding the top corner and sending Turf Moor into scenes of ecstasy.
