Mike Jackson faced the media on Friday afternoon and previewed this weekend’s trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Jackson on Spurs:
“We know it’s going to be a tough game, just like every away game is and every home game too in the Premier League.
“We know what Spurs do, I think everybody knows what their strengths are and what they’re good at. You’ve just got to have a plan and a belief in how you can go and affect them. This is the next challenge that faces us.
Jackson on winning the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award for April:
“It’s really pleasing, but it’s humbling as well when you think of some of the managers that were in the running for it and what they achieved in April. It’s been a massive group effort from everyone involved.
“My name is on it, but the work that’s gone in from everyone is huge. The picture that we had took with the award, even more people could’ve been in it. It’s a team effort and the award shows that we’ve worked really hard. We’ve got to continue to do that now, we’ve got three tough games to come.”
Jackson on bouncing back from last weekend’s defeat to Aston Villa:
“When you don’t get the performance that you want, you can forget about it, but we didn’t do that. We looked at it with the lads and found out what we could do better from the game and what we learned from it.
“If you lose a game and you don’t know why you’ve lost it, I think then you’ve got a problem, but we knew exactly what it was.”
Jackson looks ahead to midweek clash
Jackson on what’s been achieved to date:
“After the Villa game, we spoke about what the team have actually done so far. They’re still here and they’ve not gone away [in the survival fight], that’s credit to this group and the spirit that they’ve got.
“It’ll stand them in good stead for the last three games. Nobody can predict what’s going to happen, you’ve just got to be ready to fight.”
Jackson on dealing with the pressure:
“Pressure is always there. You just have to keep fighting and keep going, don’t give into it. You keep attacking the next day and that’s the best way."
