Ahead of the visit to Ewood Park on Saturday 4th January, the Club have been working closely with Lancashire Constabulary and Blackburn Rovers to manage the matchday operation in a safe manner.

We are aware that as a local derby, passion runs high and, whilst we appreciate that the majority of supporters are genuine, well-behaved fans keen to enjoy the experience, there are a minority who may set out with the intention of acting in an anti-social manner.

There will be an increased police presence due to the nature of the encounter and to promote public safety.

To ensure the safety of all supporters and to mitigate against such behaviour, there will also be increased safety and security measures including enhanced search procedures upon arrival.

We wish to remind all supporters making the trip of their responsibility to attend and enjoy the forthcoming fixture in a safe and appropriate manner.

Tickets

Away tickets for the game are sold out, please do not travel if you do not have a ticket.

Supporters are reminded that the ticket holder who has purchased a ticket for the game, is responsible for the use of that ticket.

The Ticket Office at Turf Moor will be open on Saturday morning from 9am for supporter queries.

Safety and security

Increased safety and security measures, including enhanced search procedures and ticket checks at the turnstiles, as well as a significant policing presence, will be in place at Ewood Park and the surrounding areas to create a safe environment for both sets of supporters to enjoy the game and to mitigate against any anti-social behaviour.

For this reason, we encourage fans to arrive early to allow adequate time for the search measures.

There are no public houses around Ewood Park that will be accessible to Burnley supporters for this fixture.

Travel

As per the Championship fixture at Turf Moor coach travel is not mandatory for this Saturday’s derby.

Supporters that purchased a ticket for the Club operated bus/coach service providing a return journey from Turf Moor direct to Ewood Park, will have received their paper coach travel tickets and information regarding the journey when purchasing with their match ticket. The official coaches will be stewarded for supporter safety and comfort.

Please be aware that a search process will be conducted at Turf Moor as well as at Ewood Park. There will also be no car parking available at Turf Moor on the day.

For supporters making their own way to the game, please be mindful that there is a shortage of parking facilities in the immediate proximity of Ewood Park. Supporters are advised to find parking at Darwen Vale High School or appropriate premises in the Lower Darwen area.

As a Club we wish to remind supporters attending the game that they are representing Burnley Football Club and to please remember their collective responsibility to attend the game in an appropriate manner.
