Defender looks ahead to Friday night football

Taylor Harwood-Bellis has settled into the Clarets squad since signing at the beginning of July, and the defender is looking forward to Friday evening's visit to Vicarage Road.

The season-long loanee from Manchester City, chats the Clarets' start, linking up with Vincent Kompany again and developing his leadership skills.

Harwood-Bellis on the season start:

"It's been good start, I'm happy with how we've performed. We want to win, the home game at the weekend we wanted to win, we're not happy with a draw, but the lads are settling in, have gelled and are looking forward to the game on Friday

"It hasn't been the easiest of starts but it's a good test for us to see where we’re at. We've risen to it so far and held our own. Hopefully we can be one of the teams who can be worried about during the week [by the team we're playing]. I've seen bits of them [Watford], and they've come down from the Premier League, so they'll have the same mentality as us. We'll take on the test down there and do our best."

Harwood-Bellis on showing leadership skills:

"Any team I'm in I will try to lead in my own way, it doesn't mean you have to be a senior player I just do my best. There's a lot of leaders in the squad, players that have not been in the camp before will get used to it very quickly.

"It's a hard league, you have to perform at your best, everyone has so far."

Harwood-Bellis on partnering with Charlie Taylor:

"He's helped me massively, with his experience playing in Premier League for so long. I've tried to help him with my experience of playing centre back more than he has.

"He has been class and you wouldn’t think he was a left back playing centre back, we compliment each other really well, hopefully it can carry on."

Harwood-Bellis on linking up with Kompany again:

"He's been massive [for me] with the detail he goes into, the experience he's got and the respect he has in the game. That's massive, not just for me but for most of lads, and I'm guessing that's why they’ve come here along with other factors. Hopefully he can help me throughout the season.

"He doesn't overload you with too much, but when he can give you information, he does. He'll do it with all positions too, not just the centre backs, because he's got great knowledge of game, all of the staff do. He's been there and done that, so it's easy for me to listen to him and take information on board."

Harwood-Bellis on his season-loan status:

"I'm a Burnley player now so I'm focused on what I've got to do at Burnley and my task here. For this season I'm focusing on what I've got to achieve here."
