Important information for Clarets supporters making the visit to Vicarage Road on Friday.
Travel disruption - Due to planned strikes this weekend, train operators have warned of disruption. Supporters are encouraged to plan their journey early.
All supporters are asked to plan their journey carefully and arrive early.
The address for the stadium is: Vicarage Road Stadium, Vicarage Road, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD18 0ER.
By Car
From the North or East:
Join the M25 and exit at Junction 20. Take the first exit onto the A41 to Watford. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto A411 (Hempstead Road). Continue along Hempstead Road until you reach the town centre. Stay in the left-hand lane when reaching the ring-road until you see signs for Vicarage Road.
From the South or West:
Join the M25 and exit at Junction 19. At the end of the link road, take the third exit onto A411 towards Watford. On nearing the town centre you will reach two roundabouts in quick succession. Go straight across the first but at the second turn right onto the A412 towards Rickmansworth. Then take the second left into Merton Road (signposted Hospital). When the road forks then keep to the right and then at the traffic lights where the road forks again turn left into Vicarage Road (still heading towards the Hospital). The ground is down on the left.
From Central London:
Join the M1 and exit at Junction 5. Take the second exit onto the A4008. Cross the first roundabout, then take the second exit at the next towards the town centre. At the traffic lights, turn left onto the inner ring road at the T-junction and filter across to the right-hand lane. Stay in the left-hand lane when reaching the ring-road until you see signs for Vicarage Road.
Parking
Due to Watford FC's partnership with Event Support Team (EST), fans are able to reserve parking spaces in the Holywell Primary School, Watford Grammar School for Boys or Westfield Academy car parks on a match-by-match or seasonal basis, by clicking here.
For assistance, the team can be contacted using the following details:
· Facebook: Watford FC Parking
· Instagram: @eventsupportteam
· Twitter: @estparking
There is no parking available at the ground and street parking is restricted for local residents with matchday permits. Watford General Hospital ensure that their security and parking staff monitor the entrances to the hospital car parks to prevent people from parking on-site.
By Train and Tube
The nearest station is Watford High Street, a 10-minute walk away from the ground. Watford Junction train station is about a 20-minute walk.
Watford has its own London Underground tube station, which is on the Metropolitan Line and is situated just under one mile from Vicarage Road.
Travel disruption
London Northwestern Railway (LNR) passengers are being urged to check their journeys in advance ahead of planned industrial action later this month.
Services will be heavily impacted on Saturday 13 August, Thursday 18 August and Saturday 20 August due to separate action by members of the ASLEF and RMT unions.
Supporters are urged to plan their journey in advance.
More information can be found here. Or visit www.tfl.gov.uk or www.nationalrail.co.uk
Ticket Office: Watford FC has a designated ticket office for visiting supporters, should you require assistance on arrival.
Here to Help: The Vicarage Roadies help team (dressed in green) will be in various locations around the ground to offer help if needed.
Stadium Entry: In order to reduce the potential for delayed access into the stadium, supporters are asked to arrive as early as possible. Turnstiles will open 90 minutes before kick-off, and the clock-style graphic above gives a visual representation that the ideal latest arrival point to the stadium is over half-an-hour before kick-off time, please.
Designated 'Away' Pubs: The officially designated ‘away’ pubs are The Oddfellows, 14 Fearnley Street, WD18 0RD. This is around a 6-minute walk to the ground and Sun Sports Club, Bellmount Wood Avenue, WD17 3BN. This is 10 minute drive from the ground.
Searches & Bag Checks
There will again be an increase in our security operation this season, in particular with searches and bag checks at the turnstiles. Bags will be checked at an outer cordon before entering the stadium, and those larger than A4 size (height: 297mm width: 210mm depth: 210mm) will not be permitted entry.
Smoking
Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted in any area of the stadium.
