Manager Sean Dyche gave his reaction, as the Clarets were beaten on their travels to Carrow Road on Sunday, and Dyche spoke following full-time about a range of match topics.
Dyche on the result:
“We’ve got to change the story, getting into good areas, getting into key areas, not finding the right pass, the right finish, the right moment, or the right cross, all of them things.
“It was a brilliant bit of play for a chance for Maxwel Cornet, I’m not going to over-egg him as he’s done terrific for us with his goal-scoring, but that has to go in, we know that, and if it does the whole feel of the performance changes from our and their point of view.
“We huffed and puffed but didn’t find the quality moments, we played well at times but we need to find that quality in the final third.
“We conceded a second one which was poor by our standards, and it’s those key final moments and we haven’t found those moments, it’s about the challenge which is still there.”
Dyche on the performance:
“I’m really pleased for Dwight, he came on and really affected the game in a positive manner, Azza has played a lot of football and he’s carried a few knocks so we felt he had to come of the pitch, Wout is still trying to find his which way of playing for us as he started so well, we’re trying to get him back into that groove of performing, taking a lot of team play out as he needs to focus on his play and bring himself into the game more.
“Yet again we created chances, they defended resolutely at times, there were moments, but we’ve lacked the belief in scoring a goal all season.
“It’s the challenge of what it is. We’ve lots of games and we know that a three-game week is not perfect with travelling, but the challenge is right in front of us.
“We’ve got to find the key moments and we didn’t today.”
Dyche on the upcoming games and the fans
“We’ve had to protect the players as it’s been a three-game week, but it’s important that we regroup and focus on recovery for the next game.
“We think we’ve missed a chance today, and it’s our story of the season, creating chances, getting into areas but not taking them, we can’t have any fear and that’s the next step, and we’ve got to use the freedom in these next eight games.
“The fans have been amazing, it’s taken them hours to get down here, different variations of travelling, but they’ve been amazing all season and I know that they’ll stand by us for the rest of the season.”
