Burnley are back in the Capital, aiming to build on back-to-back Premier League wins over Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton when they take on Patrick Vieira’s Eagles.
And the Clarets Gaffer discussed various topics ranging from the Palace fixture, his side’s winning run and squad management.
Dyche on Palace challenge:
“Palace have done their recruitment right, their new manager has gone in there and organised it how he wants it, and they are looking like a decent outfit.
“He (Vieira) has adapted that group to the way that he wants it, they’ve been through a bit of a tough spell, but they got a result against Watford on Wednesday night, and it’s changed feel again.
“It’s not easy to blend a squad together, the manager is working hard, and his players have managed to do that well, so we have got to remember that they are a decent outfit.
“Our record at Palace is strong and over the last few years we’ve delivered some good performances down there, we have to go down there yet again with the right mentality and the right workload and work-ethic of what we’ve delivered in the last few games to take them on, and we will.”
Dyche on back-to-back wins:
“The feel is good, it’s well-earned for different reasons, from our performance levels, we haven’t looked out of it in our last six games, so I’ve been really pleased with that side of things, winning back-to-back games.
“We’re just staying steadfast in what we believe in, we take a few knocks and setbacks, but we have to stay steadfast for the staff and the players, and we need to be flexible enough to adapt to the challenges.
“The last two games particularly, with the quality of chances created and taking of chances, and defensively we are still showing a strong base in what we work from.
“I’ve always believed in what my players are doing and that we are going in the right direction, and I’ve always believed in that we are trying to get things right, and we have to keep fighting, but the belief is always there.
“We are where we are, and we’ve accepted that and the challenge of that.
“Three points can change the look, rhetoric and feel of a season, and then you get back to that underdog spirit and mentality, so we are seeing through all the noise, that’s what I’ve told my players to do, and they have done that over the past two games.”
Dyche on squad management:
“Everyone has been working hard for their place and have been respectful to the side who have been playing.
“We’ve returned to the simplicity of our performances. Jack Cork has returned to it, Josh Brownhill looked very strong, Dwight McNeil looked strong again, and all of a sudden we’ve got a collective where more and more players are playing well again, off the back of our experiences in the division.
“We’re trying to get the process right, it’s taken a bit of time, but we have got to work hard this season to stay in the Premier League, but with players like Maxwel Cornet, Collo (Nathan Collins) and Connor Roberts coming in, just blending that newness and the edge of the younger players and their freedom of how they play.”
