The Clarets' 17 match unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday afternoon, with a 5-2 defeat at Bramall Lane.
After the final whistle Jack Cork spoke about his disappointment at how the side conceded the goals and the important lessons the team can take from the fixture.
Cork on the result:
“It was a difficult game. I think for periods of the game we did play some good stuff. Benny took two really good chances and I think it was the set pieces that let us down today, the size differences, the aggressiveness of them on set plays, throw ins, I think that’s just where the game’s swung round unfortunately. We’ve got two good games left before the break and we go from there.”
Cork on learnings to take from the game:
“Just that you can’t be complacent, this league’s tough, a physical, strong, aggressive league. We do know that, but it just shows and proves that you can’t take your foot off the pedal for a second. Hopefully it’ll be a good lesson for us, and we can bounce back from it.”

Cork on how younger players can learn from the defeat:
"This will be probably one of the best atmospheres in the league this year, the crowd I think they probably played a big part in them getting back into the game, after they scored the second, third goal. They probably swung the attitudes of their players and the attitudes of our players, which we shouldn’t have let happen but as you can tell, the second half, it did. It was disappointing but there won’t be many tougher places to come than this.
“We’ve just got to keep our heads up and go again. We’ve been playing brilliantly; we’ve had a great unbeaten record and we’ll keep going.”
Cork on the upcoming break:
“I think it’s come at a good time for everybody. There’s been a lot of matches, a lot of games, and a lot of clubs, even Sheffield United have had to use their squads. It’s been a lot and hopefully we can finish on a high, reflect on what’s happened and go again in December.”
