Saturday's game is our dedicated Veterans' Foundation fixture

Back in August 2022, we asked supporters to vote for the two charity partners the Club would support this season.

After receiving thousands of votes, the two chosen charities were confirmed as Andy’s Man Club and the Veterans’ Foundation, with our game against Preston North End on Saturday our Veterans’ Foundation dedicated fixture.

Formed in 2016, the Veterans’ Foundation are one of the country’s fastest-growing military charities, funding hundreds of life-changing and life-saving projects. They work with smaller charities and charitable organisations across the UK, with the aim to provide a better life for the Armed Forces family who are in need. With 2.4 million veterans residing in the UK, Veterans' Foundation have given £14 million to support them since their inception in 2016.

The charity provide support through various programmes and support services which many veterans may face including physical injuries, mental health, homelessness and poverty. They also assist veterans with education opportunities and employment advice and training.

The Clarets take on Preston North End on Saturday 11th February and Veterans’ Foundation will be at the game with representatives in the Papa John’s FanZone from 12pm. They’ll be taking contactless donations, giving out information and encouraging fans to get involved with the Veterans’ Lottery!

David Shaw, Founder and CEO of the Veterans' Foundation, said: “The Veterans’ Foundation is delighted to be a charity partner of Burnley FC for this season, especially as there are many veterans in the Lancashire community.

"We’ve awarded grants to many organisations in the local area since our inception in 2016 and everyone who supports the charity at the match, and throughout the season, will help us to fund the work of many more life-changing military charities.

“These charitable organisations give British veterans in need, the vital assistance they cannot find elsewhere; for instance, helping with a range of issues from overcoming mental health challenges to tackling homelessness and providing support for bereaved forces’ children. We are changing the lives of our veterans, for the better.

"Thank you so much for your support.”
