Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm the signing of Albanian youth international Renaldo Torraj, who links up with the U21 squad having signed a one-year professional deal.
18-year-old Torraj, who is able to play in a number of positions across the pitch, joins having departed Tottenham Hotspur’s academy earlier this summer.
London-born, the teenager also featured for Derby County in Premier League 2 action back in August, and has been with the Clarets for the last month as a Trialist.
Torraj qualifies to play for Albania through his heritage, and already has seven youth international appearances spanning across U16, U17 & U19 age groups. His one international goal to date came in 2019 against Peru as an U16.
And having put pen to paper on his deal with Burnley, the youngster wants to continue growing both as a person and a player.
He said: “Having been around the lads for a few weeks now, and played a few games as a Trialist, I’m proud to be signing for a club like Burnley.
“Even in my short time here already, I can see it’s a good place for people to develop on and off the pitch.
“You look at the U21s squad especially this season and we have some good talent, which I am buzzing to be a part of.
“For me now, it’s all about working hard and continuing on the right path. The club, and the people around me, will help me to do just that.”
Torraj could make his official debut for the Clarets this afternoon when the U21s take on Hull City at the County Ground in Leyland (2pm KO).
