Burnley’s final game on home soil of their 2024 pre-season schedule saw the Clarets draw 0-0 against newly promoted La Liga side Leganes at the Burnley Training Centre on Sunday.
It was relatively quiet for both sides in the first half. The best chances for both sides came just before the break with Josh Cullen having the best effort for the Clarets, rattling the crossbar, after Leganes’ Dani Raba had also hit the framework minutes earlier.
Scott Parker’s side came out on the front foot in the second half and had an early opportunity to break the deadlock. Luca Koleosho sprinted into space down the right before finding Josh Brownhill on the edge of the area, but the midfielder’s strike was saved by the hands of Soriano.
On the other flank, Wilson Odobert carved open a chance of his own but curled the ball just wide of the post from 25-yards out.
The game would end goalless, but it was a useful workout for the Clarets before they head out to Spain on Monday for a week-long training camp, ending with a clash against Cadiz next Sunday (4th).
That fixture will take place at the Antonio Barbadillo Stadium in Arcos de la Frontera, with kick-off scheduled for 6:30pm (local time).
Tickets will go on sale at the stadium on the day and will be available to purchase two hours ahead of kick-off.
