Burnley’s week begins with Michael Jackson’s U23 side returning to league action for the first time in over seven weeks as they make the long trip south to Reading.

Having progressed into the semi-finals of the Lancashire Senior Cup last week courtesy of a 3-0 win at Bolton Wanderers, the Clarets now turn their attention back to a play-off push in PL2 when they go up against the Royals.

Scheduled for a 7pm kick-off, you can follow the action from Monday evening’s game on Twitter via @ClaretsAcademy.

The midway mark of the week sees Burnley FC Women travel to face Brighouse Town in a rearranged league fixture.

Last time out, Burnley inflicted a first league defeat of the season on table toppers Wolves, winning 3-0 at the County Ground in Leyland.

Kick-off at the Yorkshire Payments stadium on Wednesday evening is scheduled for 19:45, with coverage coming via Twitter @BurnleyFCWomen.

SATURDAY

Burnley v Sunderland | U18 Northern Premier League | 13:00 (GMT)

Saturday sees Tony Philliskirk’s youth team go in search of a fourth consecutive league win when they welcome Sunderland to Gawthorpe.

Having beaten both Stoke City and Newcastle United, the young Clarets last weekend earned a further three points with a hard-fought 1-0 victory away at Middlesbrough.

Irish international Will Couch grabbed the winning goal at Rockcliffe Park midway through the second half, with Philliskirk’s side keeping a clean sheet for a second week in a row.
