Ivan Toney’s two late goals proved decisive for Thomas Frank’s Bees. The forward headed in Christian Eriksen’s cross before beating Nick Pope from the penalty spot after Nathan Collins was sent off.
Dyche provided his thoughts on the result in West London, his side’s overall performance and moving forward.
Dyche on the result:
“I thought we were on the front foot, we were taking the game on which we wanted to do down here, we do everywhere. The energy was right and a lot of what we were trying to do was right, but then we gave a goal away out of nothing.
“It was a fine ball in from Eriksen it must be said, but we don’t get our defensive positions right, it is a very simple ball from a defensive point of view and it allows a chance for the forward to score.”
Dyche on the performance:
“I think the performance overall, you can’t guarantee that you’ll score a goal and won’t concede, but the feel of the performance was right, a lot of the energy was right, the shape of the performance was right, we didn’t have too many chances other than when Maxwel went through one on one, Dwight McNeil’s header and Jay Rod hit’s the bat albeit with a fantastic strike.
“We haven’t been on the right side of these moments, and it’s happened all season, but only we can change that.
“We’re chasing the game, we get overloaded, but it’s a soft penalty.”
Dyche on moving forward:
“We’ve done a lot of work on ourselves to get back into it where we feel we should have been, so we’re back in the contest.
“I think our knowhow and our experience, and we’re not going far away of what we are doing, it’s just adding to it because a lot of our performances over the last ten games, we’ve done well, and we’ve had a tough run of three and that can happen in the Premier League.
“They (the players) understand what they have to do, there’s a lot of experience in the group, they understand it, it’s just about delivering it. We’re never far away and it’s making it happen and it’s making the difference.”
