Midfielder Josh Brownhill previewed Burnley’s home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Turf Moor on Wednesday night.
Sean Dyche’s men will be aiming for back-to-back wins when Antonio Conte’s side visit East Lancashire, following Saturday’s excellent 3-0 victory away at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Brownhill on Tottenham:
“We know what a team they are, they can lose a game where you don’t expect them to lose and go on to win a game where you don’t expect them to win.
“They’ve got quality players, really big players who play at international level, and a good manager, so there is no surprise that they can go and perform like that and get a win at Manchester City.
“We’re on a good run of form and we want to climb that table as quickly as possible and if there’s three games in a week, then there’s a massive chance for us.
“We’ve got to take each game as it comes and we know it will be a tough game come Wednesday, but it’s something that we’ll be right up for."
Brownhill on the squad’s mentality:
“It’s a massive confidence boost and it’s proved that if we keep playing the way we do, because we’ve been playing well recently, the results will follow, and we’ll pick up the points.
“It’s been the story of our season so far that we’ve played well but haven’t really picked up the points that we’ve wanted. We’ve drawn a lot of games but it’s always nice to get three.
“In regards to moving forward, it’s not about how many points we want to reach because it can change every year, we know it’s in our hands and if we win our games, I’m sure we’ll be fine.
“We can play that well and win. All-round from back to front, it was an excellent performance and getting a clean sheet in the Premier League is massive, with the quality of players in this division, and to go and score three, we knew it was coming and it was a great performance at Brighton.
Brownhill on back-to-back games:
“To get back-to-back wins and big points in this week is going to be massive, and it can give you confidence, and we know the players that we’ve got and our performances, we know we can turn it around.
“It’s always difficult to play two or three games in a week, but we can’t really complain, we’ll be fine, and we’ll be ready for it.
“We just have to get on with it and see how we perform. When the game comes around, it’s not new to a few of the lads who have come from the Championship.”
Brownhill on his first Premier League goal:
“I’m delighted, it still hasn’t sunk in, that memory of it going in, but I’m delighted.
“As everybody says as a kid, you want to play in the Premier League and play on big stages, and that’s one thing, but to score is another thing.
“For me, it has taken so long, and I was thinking when and if it is going to come, and it’s definitely at the top of my career highlights so far.”
